  • We have succeeded in eliciting PD-1 function by removing its functional restriction.
  • PD-1-elicitation alleviated autoimmune symptoms in animal models of rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, and Sjögren’s syndrome.
  • Current findings are expected to open a new avenue for the development of new immuno-regulatory therapies.
