About IQB

Transforming quantitative experimentation into biological insight

The Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biosciences (IMCB) is relaunched as the Institute for Quantitative Biosciences (IQB) on April 1st, 2018. The purpose of this new institute is to pursue cutting-edge science that explains biological processes in quantifiable terms. The reorganized IQB consists of four research clusters with clearly defined missions. The IQB will advance quantitative approaches to the life sciences, leveraging genome biology, development and neuroscience by incorporating structural biology, bioinformatics, mathematical, physical, and artificial intelligence tools. The four clusters are mutually complementary and synergistic, supported by central technology platforms and organizational provisions. The in depth quantitative investigation of dynamic biological systems will yield new solutions to benefit our society.
