  • Cryo-EM structures of the RNAPII-chromatosome complexes were determined. These structures reveal that H1 suppresses transcription elongation by RNAPII, unraveling the mechanisms by which H1 affects RNA polymerase II during transcription through nucleosomes.
  • The structures of RNAPII-chromatosome complexes provide important insights into oncogenic mechanisms, as their defects are known to be involved in various cancers.
