- We present the first successful reconstitution of secondary siRNA production, a process important for plant differentiation and virus defense.
- Using the developed in vitro system, we clarified the mechanisms of how secondary siRNA production is initiated and the rules that control production efficiency.
- This work furthers our understanding of the mechanisms of plant differentiation and viral defense, and provides a mechanistic basis for the development of useful crops in the future.
